Job Description

As a Vehicle Dynamic Simulation Engineer, you will be at the heart of the performance development process by creating, running and correlating simulation models to maximize the competitiveness of our Formula E car.
You will work on offline simulations, vehicle dynamics optimization, chassis control algorithms development, and Driver-in-the-Loop (DIL) simulator correlation. The role involves close collaboration with race and test teams to ensure the highest level of accuracy and efficiency from both simulation and track activities.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain offline vehicle dynamics simulation tools to identify performance optimums.
  • Create and implement chassis control models and algorithms.
  • Correlate test and rig data with offline and Driver-in-the-Loop (DIL) simulations to improve model fidelity.
  • Coordinate simulation sessions and define test plans to support correlation and performance learning.
  • Contribute to the validation and continuous improvement of simulation environments and methodologies.
  • Provide technical reports and actionable insights from simulation studies to engineering and trackside teams.
  • Work closely with performance engineers, race engineers, and drivers to support setup decisions and development strategies.
  • Ensure efficient communication between simulation activities and other departments.

Profile

  • Master’s degree in Motorsport, Mechanical, Automotive or related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in high-level motorsport (Formula E, F1, WEC or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle dynamics, simulation tools and chassis control systems.
  • Proven experience with offline simulation tools, lap time simulation, and simulator environments.
  • Skilled in data analysis; proficiency with Matlab/Simulink and vehicle simulation platforms like Canopy/IPG CarMaker/VI-Grade
  • Ability to correlate and interpret complex datasets from track tests and simulation environments.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Fluent in English.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to drive continuous improvement in tools and methods.
