Job Description

As a Tire Performance Engineer, you will play a key role in maximizing on-track tire performance by understanding, analysing, and optimizing behaviour under all operating conditions.

Including into the tire science group, you will be responsible for extracting performance from the tire package through data analysis, simulation correlation, and close collaboration with performance engineers, strategists, and tire suppliers. Your work will directly impact race strategy, car setup, and overall competitiveness.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Analyse and optimize tire usage under race and test conditions.
  • Collect and interpret data on tire pressure, temperature, and wear.
  • Collaborate with performance and strategy engineers to adapt tire recommendations depending on conditions and track specificities.
  • Work closely with tire manufacturers to understand and exploit tire characteristics.
  • Participate in laboratory and track testing to develop innovative solutions.
  • Correlate Driver-in-the-Loop (DIL) simulator data with real-world tire performance to enhance predictive capabilities.
  • Stay up to date with technological advancements in motorsport tire development.
     

Profile

  • Master’s degree in Motorsport, Mechanical, Automotive or related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in high-level motorsport (Formula E, F1, WEC or similar).
  • Strong understanding of tire dynamics, modelling and their impact on performance.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (MATLAB, Excel, data acquisition software).
  • Strong motivation to work trackside with the willingness to travel extensively and frequently throughout the racing season.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a competitive and fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in English required; French is a plus.
  • Team spirit, attention to detail, and passion for motorsport competition.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Fluent in English.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to drive continuous improvement in tools and methods.
