Envision Racing is a UK-based Formula E team competing in the FIA Formula E World Championship. With a proven track record of success and a commitment to innovation and sustainability, we are looking for a qualified and experienced Strategy Engineer to join our Engineering team and contribute to our pursuit of performance at the highest level of electric motorsport. This is an exciting opportunity for an analytical and proactive engineer to play a key role in the preparation and execution of race strategy.
Strategy Engineer – Formula E Team
· Trackside role within the Engineering group focussed on preparation, execution and reviewing race strategies and run plans for FP, Q and race sessions at Formula E race events.
· Develop race strategies through simulation, data analysis and evaluation of different scenarios.
· Provide clear, timely information and decision support pre/post and during live sessions, working closely with the Race Engineers, Performance Engineers and drivers.
· Monitor competitor performance, energy usage, race position and evolving track conditions to inform real-time strategy decisions.
· Develop and maintain strategy models and analysis to improve the quality of decision-making.
· Contribute to the development of FE-specific strategy methodologies, tools and best practices.
· Work closely with the wider Engineering group to integrate vehicle performance, energy management and strategic considerations into race planning.
Key skillset requirements are:
· Minimum 3 years’ experience in a strategy engineering role at a high level of motorsport (e.g. Formula E, F1, F2, F3, IndyCar, WEC) with knowledge of FIA Sporting and Technical Regulations.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, with excellent attention to detail, planning, communication and organisational skills.
· Proficient in Python, with experience using programming to analyse data and develop tools.
· Strong understanding of data analysis and experience working with large or complex datasets.
· Ability to interpret data quickly and communicate clear, actionable information under pressure.
· Experience developing and using simulation tools for performance analysis and race preparation.

· Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate engineering information clearly.
· Experience with race strategy software and/or live timing systems and McLaren ATLAS.
· Degree in Mathematics, Physics, Mechanical or Motorsport Engineering, or a related field.
· A flexible approach to working hours and availability to work on weekends is essential.
This position is based at Silverstone in our purpose-built workshop, with free onsite parking, an onsite gym, and access to peaceful woodland surroundings. The position requires flexibility and a willingness to travel regularly.
