The Opportunity

We're looking for an RTS Composite Technician to join our team in Banbury, responsible for the assembly, servicing and repair of composite components for our Formula 1 race cars.

This is a hands-on role that goes beyond the factory. You'll support races and test events as required, helping ensure critical composite components are prepared, maintained and ready to perform when it matters.

What You'll Do

  • Assemble, service and repair composite components for our Formula 1 race cars.
  • Carry out trimming and bonding of composite assemblies.
  • Maintain bodywork, floors and brake ducts to the required standards, both at the factory and trackside.
  • Work directly on the car when running, under the direction of the Number 1 Mechanic and Chief Mechanic.
  • Identify and report reliability issues and support effective fault diagnosis.
  • Help manage component, spare and consumable stock levels, working closely with the Chief Mechanic and Parts Coordinators.
  • Support the turnaround and flow of composite components between the track, factory and suppliers.
  • Contribute to car builds, engineering projects and event support across the team.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in a similar mechanical role within Formula 1, World Sports Cars or F2 is preferred. We will also consider candidates who can demonstrate professionalism and a strong record within the motorsport industry.
  • Strong mechanical understanding gained within Formula 1 motor racing.
  • Understanding of composite repair methods, including bond preparation, resin selection and laminating techniques.
  • Ability to apply composite repair skills trackside, often within limited timescales and under pressure.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and assembly, update and modification information.
  • Basic fabrication and machining skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to remain calm, adaptable and focused in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to travel extensively and work irregular hours, including weekends and race days.
