Envision Racing is a UK-based Formula E team competing in the FIA Formula E World Championship. With a proven track record of success and a commitment to innovation and sustainability, we are looking for an experienced and driven Race Engineer to join our Engineering group and play a key role in delivering performance at the highest level of electric motorsport. Race Engineer – Formula E Team
- This role will act as the lead engineer responsible for all technical and operational aspects of one race cars across tests, simulator sessions race events, ensuring legality and compliance with sporting and technical regulations.
- Lead communication with the driver, translating feedback into clear engineering direction.
- Define and optimise car setup using data analysis, simulation tools, and performance group input.
- Direct run plans and engineering execution across practice, qualifying, and race sessions.
- Make timely, data-driven decisions during events to maximise performance through close collaboration with Manufacturer, Performance, Simulation, Systems, Strategy, and Tyre Engineers.
- Lead post-event analysis and reporting, driving continuous improvement in performance and operations.
Key skillset requirements:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Race Engineer (or equivalent senior engineering role) in a high level of motorsport (e.g. Formula E, F1, WEC, IndyCar, F2/F3).
- Strong driver management skills, with the ability to build trust and deliver clear, calm and confidence-inspiring communication while under high-pressure, time critical environments.
- Excellent engineering ability with a strong, demonstrable understanding of vehicle dynamics and performance optimisation along with robust planning, organisational, and reporting skills.
- Proficient with modern data analysis tools (e.g. ATLAS) and simulation environments.
Desired skills:

- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a dynamic, multicultural environment.
- Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical or Motorsport Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in Formula E or strong understanding of electric powertrain systems and energy management.
- Programming experience (Python, MATLAB, VBA or similar) for analysis and tool development.
