Job Purpose 

A great opportunity to work alongside both an experienced Powertrain Calibration Software Solutions Engineer and Software Developers. There is a genuine opportunity to grow within a company where your efforts will be not only noticed but rewarded. 

The role will be based at our office facility within Darkside Developments. We perform a wide variety of tuning work from remapping of stock customer vehicles for improved performance, to making the latest OEM ECUs work with modified hardware such as larger turbochargers, injectors and fuel pumps on high power street and track/competition vehicles, including our race winning Audi TT’s. This work includes reverse engineering of factory calibration software, file interpretation, on vehicle tuning and research, as well as road, dyno and track side testing. 

This role will suit a candidate with a mechanical or automotive engineering background. Salary will be based on experience level, we will consider both junior and senior level applicants. Knowledge gaps can be filled, and ideally we are looking for someone who can bring something new to the team. Aside from the main role, there will be an opportunity for a variety of work depending on the skills you can offer. 

You will need to be able to work effectively as part of a close knit team, be highly motivated and organised with great attention to detail and an ambitious nature. 

 

Role Benefits

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Testing and development of engine hardware and software on dyno, road and track
  • Reverse engineering OE binary and Hexadecimal 
  • Data logging and analysis 
  • Development of processes 
  • Optimisation of power train hardware and software 
  • Track side support of competition vehicles 

 

Role Requirements 

  • Mechanical or Automotive Engineering Degree 
  • Good working knowledge of internal combustion engines and calibration principles
  • Working knowledge of WinOLS 
  • Full, Clean UK driving license 
  • Excellent computer literacy 
  • Good knowledge of control systems desirable 
  • Good knowledge of controller file structures, binary, and coding desirable 

 

Working Conditions 

Full time role 

Working Hours - 08:00 to 17:00 

Special working conditions may include one late evening per week and Saturday work.
