Parts Coordinator
Mahindra Racing
Mahindra Racing is a motor racing team based in Banbury, United Kingdom, competing with an Indian racing license. The team is currently competing in the electric FIA Formula E Championship since the inaugural season in 2014.
Role Purpose
The Parts Coordinator is responsible for the effective management, tracking, quality control, and lifecycle monitoring of race car components across factory and trackside operations. The role ensures optimal availability, compliance, and reliability of parts to support race, test, and development activities.
Main Responsibilities
Parts Management
• Take ownership of parts and stock management throughout their lifecycle for current and future cars.
• Plan and allocate components to ensure optimal utilisation and highlight any inventory shortages.
• Work closely with Race and Test Chief Mechanics to ensure parts are serviced in line with requirements and available resources.
• Report reliability issues as they arise.
Part Lifing
• Ensure all required components are correctly lifed at the factory and trackside.
• Work with the race team to ensure parts used at events are accurately recorded.
• Apply race and test mileage promptly and accurately to all relevant components.
Part Quality Management
• Check critical dimensions of components against technical drawings to confirm compliance and suitability for assembly.
• Track component mass against design and homologation documentation.
• Liaise with suppliers, alongside the Supply Chain Manager, to resolve quality issues in a timely manner.
Procedure Management
• Develop and implement new procedures aligned with the role’s responsibilities.
• Review and update existing processes as required.
Additional Responsibilities
As part of a small team environment, additional operational support may be required, including:
• Supporting the Stores person with storage and location control of current and historic components, ensuring lifing software is updated and accurate inventories are maintained.
• Assisting with packing for race, test, and late freight shipments.
• Supporting goods-in processes.
Knowledge & Skills
• Previous experience in a similar motorsport role is advantageous.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Good understanding of race car components and assemblies.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Experience using LifeCheck or similar component lifing systems is advantageous.
• Experience with inventory management software is advantageous.
Compliance Requirements
In line with national Secure Freight Consigner requirements, five years’ continuous employment, education, and/or training history must be provided, with any gaps over 28 days accounted for.
