About Us
Mahindra Racing is a founding team – and the only Indian team – competing in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, the world’s first all-electric street racing series. With multiple race wins and a landmark first victory at the Berlin E-Prix in 2017, the team continues to build on a strong record of performance and innovation.
As part of our continued growth, the Test and Development team is looking to appoint a No. 2 Mechanic. This is an exciting opportunity to join the world of electric motorsport as we move into a new generation of Formula E technology. We are seeking someone with a genuine passion for racing and engineering, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and demonstrates excellent organisation, accuracy, and attention to detail. The role reports to the Test Chief Mechanic and involves working under pressure while managing multiple tasks effectively.
The Test and Development Team is responsible for all track and rig testing of current and previous Mahindra Formula E cars, including marketing and demonstration vehicles.

Main Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, service, and support the Test Team’s Formula E cars, contributing to the development of procedures and build manuals.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of chassis setup.
  • Work effectively to tight timelines during test events and factory build phases.
  • Follow job lists related to car build and preparation.
  • Attend and support selected test events worldwide.
  • Assist with garage infrastructure setup and pack-down.
  • Support the development and maintenance of equipment to ensure correct operation.
  • Maintain a clean and organised working environment both in the factory and at events.
  • Carry out basic composite repairs.
  • Assist with freight planning, loading, and packing.

 

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Essential

  • Previous motorsport experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Able to work independently when required.
  • Strong team player with a positive, proactive attitude.
  • Able to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Willing and able to travel internationally for work.
  • Solid understanding of chassis setup techniques.
  • Professional, presentable, and well-organised.
  • Strong communication skills and fluency in English.
  • Competent IT skills, including MS Office.
  • Full driving licence with UK entitlements.


Desirable

  • HV (High Voltage) Safety Level 2 certification.
