- Prepare and organise spare assemblies, consumables, tools and garage equipment.
- Participate in pit-stop training and perform assigned duties during races.
- Help with vehicle and equipment loading, garage installation and pack-down.
- Maintain a clean, organised working area and follow team safety and quality procedures.
Experience and skills
- Previous hands-on experience preparing and maintaining race cars within a motorsport team.
- Experience at race or test events and an understanding of the working demands of a race weekend.
- Sound practical knowledge of vehicle mechanical systems, particularly suspension, brakes and drivetrain assemblies.
- Competence with workshop tools, torque procedures and accurate component assembly.
- The ability to follow job lists, setup sheets and technical instructions.
- Good organisation, reliable workmanship and a willingness to ask when something is unclear.
- A cooperative approach, clear communication and the ability to remain focused under pressure.
Desirable
- Previous experience as a No.2 mechanic in GT3, GT4, prototypes or a comparable category.
- Familiarity with McLaren GT race cars.
- Experience performing race pit stops.
- A relevant motorsport or automotive qualification, or equivalent practical experience.
Working arrangements
The role involves workshop preparation, regular travel, weekend work and time away during races and tests. Applicants should hold a full driving licence valid in the UK and be able to travel internationally. The role is open to both contractors and permanent applicants.
