We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-driven No.2 Mechanic to join our Hypercar race team. This is a hands-on role at the very heart of the operation, supporting the build, service, and running of a cutting-edge race car at both the factory and trackside.
Key Responsibilities
Car Build & Preparation
- Support the full build, strip, and assembly of the Hypercar in line with processes defined by the No. 1 Mechanic and engineering team.
- Carry out installation, removal, and servicing of chassis, suspension, brakes, drivetrain, and aero components.
- Follow build sheets meticulously, ensuring accurate lifing and tracking of components.
- Work safely around high-voltage hybrid systems, assisting with HV component changes as required.
Event & Race Support
- Assist in car preparation, setup changes, real-time adjustments, and post-session checks during races and tests.
- Take part in pitstop practice and live pitstops, executing tasks with speed, precision, and safety.
- Maintain a clean, organized garage environment to professional standards.
General Duties
- Manage and maintain tools, equipment, and workstations both in the factory and at events.
- Collaborate with the No. 1 Mechanic, engineers, and other departments (Electronics, Composite, Sub-Assembly) to identify and resolve issues.
- Contribute to improvements in build procedures and operational workflows.
- Maintain physical fitness through the team’s gym program to meet the demands of pitstops and travel.
- Travel extensively with the team, supporting garage setup/teardown, freight handling, and car logistics.
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous motorsport experience in a mechanical role, ideally in endurance racing, single-seaters, or high-performance automotive environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with attention to detail and a commitment to exacting standards.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and as part of a close-knit team.
- Physically fit and adaptable to a demanding travel schedule.
- Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a willingness to learn from senior team members.
- Ability and willingness to travel globally
Base: Must reside in or willing to relocate to a commutable distant to Frant, Kent
Travel: Regular European and global travel required
