Mahindra Racing is a founding team – and the only Indian team – competing in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, the world’s first all-electric street racing series. As part of our continued growth, the Test and Development team is looking to appoint a No.1 Mechanic. This is an exciting opportunity to join the world of electric motorsport as we move into a new generation of Formula E technology. We are seeking someone with a genuine passion for racing and engineering, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and demonstrates excellent organisation, accuracy, and attention to detail. The role reports to the Test Chief Mechanic and involves working under pressure while managing multiple tasks effectively.
The Test and Development Team is responsible for all track and rig testing of current and previous Mahindra Formula E cars, including marketing and demonstration vehicles.

Main Responsibilities

• Attend test events as required, while being based at the factory when not on event.
• Assemble and disassemble cars, components, and rigs to approved standards, escalating any discrepancies.
• Act as a senior mechanic, overseeing and guiding team members working on assigned cars or projects.
• Build cars and assemblies to approved engineering specifications using drawings, technical bulletins, and build specs, completing all relevant build checklists and documentation.
• Escalate all faults to the Chief Mechanic or Design department as appropriate.
• Support garage and trackside setup and pack-down.
• Maintain high standards of daily working practice, following 5s methodology
• Assist in identifying areas of continuous improvment
• Build strong working relationships with all business departments and team personnel.
• Uphold high standards of staff and departmental presentation.
• Work proactively and independently when required, demonstrating a positive “can-do” attitude and supporting teammates in completing tasks.
• Complete all tasks within agreed timeframes.
• Work flexibly, including occasional hours outside standard schedules.
• Follow and actively enforce the company’s Health & Safety policies.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Essential

• Proven experience as a number 1 or number 2 RACE mechanic at international level
• Confident user of Microsoft Office (Excel, OneNote, Word).
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

• Familiarity with high-voltage vehicle operating protocols.
