The School of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics at Oxford Brookes University is located right in the heart of the UK Motorsport Valley. We have a world-class reputation for attracting the next generation of Formula One and Formula E engineers. As our student cohort grows, we are looking for a Technical Instructor to join our Mechanical Engineering Fabrication Workshops.
This is a uniquely exciting role: If you hold a degree, we will support and fund your development through our Postgraduate Degree Apprenticeship Scheme. If you don't have a degree yet (e.g., you hold an HNC/HND), we will provide staff development funding toward earning one.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Working alongside high-calibre students who are genuinely passionate about racing, you will use modern, recently installed equipment to support the design and build of our next-generation electric racing cars (featuring four in-wheel motors and a full carbon fibre chassis).
Your work will take place in industry-standard laboratories optimized to produce race cars winning at international competitions year-on-year. Bonus: Candidates assigned to support our highly successful Formula Student team will also be offered opportunities for international travel.
