We are seeking a skilled and meticulous Composite Technician to join our team. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the fabrication, assembly, and repair of composite components. The ideal candidate has experience working with various composite materials and possesses a strong commitment to precision and safety.

 

This posting is full time shop-based and all 2026 IMSA events.

 

Responsibilities:

· Fabricate and assemble composite parts according to engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.

· Perform hand lay-ups (wet or prepreg), vacuum bagging, and other composite fabrication processes.

· Mix and apply resins, adhesives, and other materials with a high degree of accuracy.

· Operate and maintain a variety of tools and equipment, including hand tools, sanders, and routers.

· Trim, sand, fill, and finish parts to meet strict cosmetic and dimensional specifications.

· Conduct in-process and final quality checks to ensure all products meet required standards and specifications.

· Read and interpret technical documents, such as schematics, drawings, and repair manuals.

 · Maintain a clean and organized work area.

· Work closely and communicate well with other team members to efficiently complete car builds on schedule

· Recognize and communicate potential improvements for safety, quality of product and time of car completion

· Follow safety guidelines and company procedures

· Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting with inventory and material management.

 

Qualifications:

Successful candidates should have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, with technical or vocational training in composites preferred. A minimum of 1 years' experience in composite manufacturing or a related field is required, along with proficiency in materials like carbon fiber and fiberglass. The role demands strong mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity, and exceptional attention to detail. The ability to interpret technical drawings and instructions is essential. Physical requirements include standing for extended periods and lifting up to [ e.g., 50 pounds]. A team-oriented mindset and good communication skills are also necessary.

 

This work requires quality, consistent work and flexibility under critical time deadlines. It may require extended hours and some work on the weekends depending on the timelines.

 

Preferred Skills and Experience:

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in a specific industry (e.g., aerospace, marine, automotive). Certification in composite manufacturing processes and experience with advanced techniques like resin infusion are advantageous.
