The Role

This is a full-time dual-role position combining workshop and motorsport responsibilities.

You will join our MLMC LMP3 programme as No.1 Mechanic, leading car preparation and maintenance between events and providing full trackside support at European race meetings, including active participation in pit stop operations.

In addition, you will support our workshop projects, contributing to the preparation and build of performance and specialist vehicles across current and future programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the LMP3 car crew as No.1 Mechanic within the MLMC programme
  • Ensure car reliability, safety, and performance optimisation in collaboration with engineers
  • Full car build, preparation, servicing, inspection and maintenance between race events
  • Participate in pit stop operations (wheel gunner, wheel off/on, wheel feeder, etc.)
  • Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on performance and specialist road cars
  • Support ongoing vehicle builds and development projects
  • Diagnose faults and perform corrective work to a high professional standard (workshop and trackside)
  • Support spares management, parts preparation and stock control
  • Assist with loading and unloading of race vehicles and equipment
  • Maintain a clean, organised and professional working environment

Experience & Skills Required

  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience as a Race Mechanic
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a No.1 Mechanic role
  • Proven background within professional motorsport environments
  • Confident in pit stop roles and procedures and strong ability to perform under pressure in time-critical situations
  • Excellent mechanical standards with strong attention to detail
  • Experience working collaboratively with engineers, drivers and small high-performance teams
  • Professional approach to reliability, workmanship and vehicle care
  • Good communication skills and positive attitude with a strong work ethic with a desire to develop and grow
  • Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office, including Excel)
  • Fluent English (spoken and written)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Eligibility to work in the UK and Europe

Important Information

This role requires extensive travel throughout Europe, including weekends and public holidays. Long hours and time away from home during the racing season are expected.
