TGR Haas F1 Team competes in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship with Grand Prix race winner Esteban Ocon and British rising star Ollie Bearman, led by Team Principal Ayao Komatsu. The 2025 season saw the team’s second highest points total in its 10-season history, achieving a combined total of 20 top 10 finishes. The first American Formula 1 team to compete in the sport since 1986, TGR Haas F1 Team made an immediate impression with a memorable points-scoring debut at the 2016 Australian Grand Prix. Nine years later, and the team continues to demonstrate growth and a clear direction with its future objectives – coming off the back of its second-best season to-date in Formula 1.


We’re a racing team – not a corporate machine. We have three HQs – Kannapolis in the US, Banbury in the UK and Maranello in Italy – each powered by passionate, loyal and hardworking team ambassadors. General Summary:

This position reports to the Trackside IT Manager or their designee; is located in Banbury, UK.  Responsible for deploying, supporting and enhancing IT services and systems. This role plays a key part in ensuring the delivery of best-in-class IT services and solutions to the company and its users.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships between all personnel and departments.
  • Provide 1st to 2nd line technical support to our global userbase, including trackside whilst adhering to defined service delivery levels and policies.
  • Provide technical and operational support at demo/heritage, race or test events either at the track or remotely from the race/event Support function.
  • Assist with 3rd line technical support where appropriate.
  • Help with planning upgrades and changes to trackside environment.
  • Setup and run race/event hardware and software before, during and after events.
  • Manage and maintain spares & inventory and arrange air and sea logistics.
  • Assist with asset, stock and license management.
  • Support, monitor and assist in the administration and troubleshooting of IT services and systems including but not limited to: Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Windows Server, virtualization, networking, security and storage.
  • Support, monitor and troubleshoot trackside specific hardware and software, actioning alerts and notifications on and off event, trackside and remotely.
  • Ensure all issues are logged and followed up accordingly.
  • Support other team members to achieve a best-in-class service delivery and set a standard to follow.
  • Identify and help deliver continuous improvements.
  • Assist with the deployment of updates and changes, adhering to change control, information security and risk management policies.
  • Help develop and promote an innovative and proactive service delivery functions.
  • Work with third parties for support and purchasing.
  • Ensure up to date documentation and accurate reporting as required.
  • Adhere to all IT, Health & Safety and wider business processes.
  • Follow all safety regulations in all venues.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Trackside IT Manager or their designee.

 

Education and Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT support.
  • Further education such as BSc or MIS in an ICT related qualification or equivalent experience required.
  • IT certifications are advantageous.
  • Exposure to racing and international environments is advantageous.

 

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft client and 365 environments.
  • Thorough understanding of business/enterprise level ITSM systems.
  • Robust knowledge of end-user computer hardware troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs.
  • Good understanding of Windows Server environments, Active Directory and Ethernet networking.
  • Good knowledge of business/enterprise level endpoint management systems.
  • Strong awareness of cyber security and be able to identify potential threats.
  • Working knowledge of scripting languages such as Microsoft PowerShell.
  • Work to a consistently high standard in stressful and time sensitive situations.
  • Quick decision-making skills whilst working through problems in a scientific and analytical way.
  • Work well within a team environment with personnel at all levels.
  • A sympathetic approach to your work colleagues and an ability to integrate within a group environment.
  • A can-do positive approach and a willingness to help others is essential.

Work Environment Physical Demands:

An ability to work and prioritize within a high pressure, time sensitive environment while retaining a methodical approach is essential. The role may require occasional domestic and international travel and a willingness to work long and flexible hours including weekends.

 

This position may require lifting to 50 pounds, repeated bending, squatting and manual dexterity. Fast-paced work environment requiring heavy mental demands. Work environment includes machinery, race cars, 7-post and other rigs, grinding debris, and hazardous fluids. All employees must ensure compliance with the Company Health and Safety Policy, and all relevant other statutory Health and Safety legislation.
