Job Title: IT Administrator – IMSA GTP program

Location: Trackside and Headquarters

Employment Type: Full-time (including race weekend travel)

 

Overview

The IT Administrator plays a critical role in ensuring reliable and secure IT operations both at the team’s headquarters and during race events. This position supports all aspects of IT infrastructure, including networking, servers, data management, and specialized motorsport systems such as telemetry, timing, and communications. The role requires a proactive, adaptable professional capable of delivering under high-pressure, fast-paced motorsport environments.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain all IT systems across HQ, workshop, and trackside environments.
  • Set up and support race-weekend IT infrastructure, including:

              - Network connectivity (wired and wireless)

              - Timing systems and telemetry data links

              - Communications with governing bodies and broadcast partners

  • Oversee server, storage, and backup solutions for performance data and engineering files.
  • Provide on-site and remote user support for engineers, mechanics, and management staff.
  • Ensure cybersecurity best practices, including firewall management, antivirus, and access control.
  • Maintain and deploy IT hardware (laptops, radios, network switches, cameras, tablets, etc.).
  • Liaise with external vendors and motorsport data system providers.
  • Document IT systems, network configurations, and standard operating procedures.
  • Support software and cloud services used by performance, logistics, and media teams.
  • Manage IT asset inventory and license compliance.

 

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as an IT Administrator, Systems Engineer, or IT Support Specialist and IT trackside experience
  • Strong knowledge of networking (LAN/WAN, VLANs, VPN, Wi-Fi, firewalls).
  • Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365, and cloud environments (Azure or AWS).
  • Familiarity with motorsport data systems (e.g., telemetry, timing, CAN data, Pi Toolbox, Bosch, or Magneti Marelli systems) preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware setup and troubleshooting in demanding environments.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and data integrity management.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to changing trackside conditions.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

 

Desirable Qualities

  • Motorsport industry experience
  • Experience with radio communications or trackside telemetry networks.
  • Willingness to travel frequently, including international events and long weekends.
  • Passion for motorsport technology and innovation.

 

Education & Certifications

  • Degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Relevant certifications (CompTIA Network+, Microsoft, Cisco CCNA, etc.) are an advantage.
