W Racing Team, known as Team WRT, is a professional autosport racing team, founded in 2009 and headquartered in Belgium.
Apart from running various international race programs, WRT is also known as manufacturer through its subsidiary, WRT Manufacturing which develops roll cages and chassis reinforcement for several of the world’s largest works motorsport programs, including the complete build of all some race cars.

Role IMSA Strategy Engineer
Where BMW M Team WRT GTP Programme
Program IMSA LMDh program, USA
The duties of the IMSA Strategy Engineer will include, but are not limited to, supporting the race engineering group with strategy development, simulation,
and analysis to maximize competitiveness within the IMSA LMDh program.
Responsibilities include:
Strategy Support
• Lead all strategy work within the Engineering Group and contribute to the SEG (Strategy Engineer Group) for IMSA activities
• Provide strategy support to the Hypercar & GTP Lead Engineer and the wider engineering group as required
• Work closely with the central Hypercar & GTP Strategy Engineer
• Deliver independent analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making
Pre-Event Preparation
• Review historical data from previous events and comparable races
• Develop and maintain tire models, including energy usage, degradation, wear, and warm-up characteristics across compounds, track conditions, and individual wheels
• Analyze Balance of Performance (BoP), including summaries and sensitivity impacts
• Assess weather conditions, baseline performance metrics, and event- specific parameters (track and car)
• Prepare strategy overviews, including efficiency and cost-benefit considerations
• Review applicable sporting and technical regulations
Event Preparation (Lead-Up to Race)
• Contribute to information gathering, including practice and qualifying plans
• Lead the preparation of strategy briefings and supporting documentation
Practice and Qualifying
• Conduct tire analysis and refine modeling based on live data
• Provide tire strategy overviews across compound options
• Lead pre-race briefings and supporting documentation
Race Execution
• Develop preferred race strategy options, along with viable alternatives, forboth cars
• Identify and analyze risks and opportunities to support real-time decision-making
Post-Event
• Perform detailed numerical and strategy analysis
• Lead strategy reporting to the wider Engineering Group and management
