AO Racing is currently seeking a Gearbox & Sub-Assembly Technician to join our team for the 2026 Season.

Key Responsibilities
- Assembly and adjustments of sub assembled items related to the race car. Examples: Gearbox, Diffs, Cluster, Uprights, Driveshafts, Brakes, Wheel Guns.
- Conduct pre-race and post-race inspections, strip-downs, and rebuilds with detailed documentation
- Perform crack testing, component measurement, and life-cycle tracking using advanced tools (e.g., magnaflux, micrometers, calipers, )
- Maintain build records, torque settings, and clearance specifications in line with engineering documentation
- Collaborate with engineering and vehicle performance teams to troubleshoot and resolve reliability issues
- Support pit stop equipment maintenance and off-car rig setups.
- Ensure all assemblies meet safety, performance, and quality standards under high-pressure conditions
- Travel to race events globally, providing trackside support during build, setup, and turnaround phases
- Disassembling, cleaning, inspection, and non-destructive testing of components.
- Maintaining accurate records of component and mileage changes. Including event information required to have post event debrief with group leader
- Ensuring all components of the race car are safely joined, bolted, or otherwise secured
- Modifying manufactured precision parts using manual machinery to exactly fit set-up and design specifications.
Qualifications & Experience
- 3+ years in motorsport related gearbox & sub-assembly roles.
- Proven expertise in Synchro & Non-Syncromesh Systems.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with X-Trac & Porsche Gearboxes a plus.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in high-stakes environments.
- Proficient in digital build sheets, parts lifing systems, and technical documentation.
- Willingness to travel extensively and work flexible hours during race weekends.
