Audi has been competing in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship since the 2026 season. The new team has three locations. The Audi Motorsport Competence Center in Neuburg, Germany, is considered one of the most modern of its kind in Europe. The Formula 1 Factory of Audi Motorsport AG in Hinwil, Switzerland, is known for its innovative technologies and its passion for racing. The Audi Motorsport Technology Center in the United Kingdom is in its initial phase and is growing steadily. Our power unit comes from Neuburg, while Hinwil is responsible for chassis development and race operations.

Become part of this unique project and make motorsport history. This position is available at Audi Formula Racing GmbH in Neuburg, Germany. 

In the field of high-voltage battery and HV electronics development, you will work on a key component of high-performance electric drives and contribute to competitiveness in a highly competitive environment. You will be responsible for the connection technologies within the manufacturing of traction storage systems and ensure reproducible quality to guarantee successful use in high-performance motorsport applications. Furthermore, you will support the production of HV batteries in close coordination with manufacturing.

 

Your tasks

  • Definition and development of joining technologies, specifically for different types of welded joints 
  • Participation in and further development of connection technologies in the electronics sector (soldering, gluing, metallic welding)
  • Process definition, execution and monitoring of cell welding for HV batteries
  • Ensuring a stable and reproducible manufacturing process for HV batteries 
  • Production and development support for material analyses with quality assurance to validate and ensure production quality
  • Support for preliminary developments in the ERS field for connection technologies
  • Further development of the production of HV batteries
  • Analysis and definition of production processes within HV batteries in coordination with development and manufacturing.
  • Close collaboration with cell development, high-voltage electronics, manufacturing & testing

 

Your profile

  • Completed studies in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, production engineering, process engineering or comparable field 
  • Several years of experience in the field of HV batteries, HV electronics or connection technology (laser welding, plasma treatment, automated manufacturing, battery production)
  • Experience in handling laser welding systems and metallic joining processes in high-voltage environments
  • Knowledge of materials testing, metallic analysis and process validation
  • Training as an electrician (EFK) and experience working under high voltage is advantageous.
  • Basic knowledge of CATIA V5 is desirable.
  • Independent, structured work style, high motivation and strong teamwork skills
  • Willingness to work flexibly and in a solution-oriented manner in a highly dynamic motorsport environment.
  • You have fluent German or English skills and are willing to learn basic knowledge of the other language.
