Welcome to the Audi F1 Project. 

Audi will compete in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship from 2026. 

The new team has three locations. The Audi Motorsport Competence Center in Neuburg, Germany, is considered one of the most modern of its kind in Europe. The Sauber Group's Formula 1 Factory in Hinwil, Switzerland, is known for its innovative technologies and its passion for racing. The Sauber Motorsport Technology Center in the United Kingdom will be operational this year. Our power unit comes from Neuburg, while Hinwil is responsible for chassis development and race operations.

This position for the Audi F1 Project is located at Audi Formula Racing GmbH in Neuburg, Germany.

In the area of combustion engine development, you will work on the failure analysis of a high-performance powertrain within mechanical development. Their task is to analyze damage cases in the context of the respective engine system, to identify correlations and to prepare optimization measures in order to develop the maximum performance and efficiency of the engine – while ensuring the required reliability.

 
Your tasks

  • Initial assessment and analysis of test parts and damaged components
  • Conducting microscopic examinations
  • Coordination with design, testing personnel, workshops and laboratories regarding design, delivery quality, testing procedure and load, setup and laboratory analyses
  • Derivation and execution of further tests and functional measurements to clarify the cause of the damage
  • Analysis of the cause of the damage and confirmation of the countermeasure
  • Documentation and reporting on the current state of development

 

Your profile

  • Technical university degree in mechanical engineering or automotive engineering 
  • (Bachelor's, Master's, Diploma or doctorate to Dr.-Ing.)
  • Several years of experience in the analysis of engine damage
  • Several years of professional experience in the field of engine mechanics and in the testing of high-performance combustion engines
  • Comprehensive knowledge of engine technology with excellent expertise in the fields of engine testing, measurement technology, tribology and materials science
  • Experience in operating test benches for engines and components
  • Excellent teamwork and organizational skills, as well as a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Independent and structured work style
  • Decision-making ability and conflict resolution skills
  • Fluent German or English skills and a willingness to acquire basic knowledge of the other language.
