General Summary:
This role reports to the Electronics Operations Manager or their designee; located in Banbury, UK. Responsible for the manufacture, maintenance and testing of harnesses, sensors and assemblies. The successful candidate will manage the in-house manufacturing, external suppliers and ensure all tooling, test equipment and stock are maintained. The role will also include supporting factory car builds for events and working closely with the Systems Engineers and trackside team to support development test events and projects.
General Responsibilities:
• Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships between all personnel and departments.
• Supervise the workshop production personnel in the production of all electrical and electronic assemblies for on car and off car applications.
• Responsible for the overall performance of the department, ensuring targets and milestones are achieved.
• Manage department personnel from recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement through to separation.
• Mentor, train and guide personnel as required in collaboration with the Electronics Operations Manager. Assist in the development of staff using effective performance reviews and development plans, again collaborating with the Electronics Operations Manager.
• Collaborate in the establishment of standard operating procedures to maintain a practical yet functional department.
• Other duties as assigned by the Electronics Operations Manager or their designee.
Key Responsibilities:
• Leadership of a skilled team of Production / Test & Inspection technicians working at a high level to both planned and dynamic workload.
• Responsible for Quality Assurance of all internal and supplier manufactured products - including inspection, testing, servicing, maintenance and repair processes.
• Manage the Electronics workshop ensuring all tooling and test equipment are fit to use.
• Manufacture a range of harnesses, sensor termination and assembly build for use on and off car.
• Support factory race and test car build ensuring all electronic boxes, wiring harnesses and sensors are fitted correctly.
• Help to ensure the correct level of spares and consumables are available to all events, collaborating with the Electronics Operations Manager and the Electronics Parts Coordinator.
• Support the Systems Engineers when they are calibrating sensors and when performing tests on and off the chassis.
• Assist in the use the component lifing system to manage all electronic parts ensuring transactions are carried out fully.
• Support the development and implementation of in-house test rigs and equipment.
• Play an active role in the design and installation of the chassis wiring and sensors with the Electronics Design team.
• Continuously monitor and assist in the improvement of on and off car installations, design standards and operational processes and procedures.
• Actively assist to progress department allocated Development & Reliability projects under the direction of the Electronics Operations Manager.
• Assume any responsibilities and duties delegated by the Electronics Operations Manager or their designee.
• Follow and enforce health & safety regulations at all venues
Education and Work Experience:
GCSE, High School diploma or equivalent required. Further education including Electrical Training to HNC level, desirable. Knowledge of Raychem System 25, motorsport and military based connector series plus previous experience working in high level motorsport environment are essential.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
• Ability to supervise others, communicate effectively, and liaise with fellow workers to get desired results.

• Strong technical background in race car electrical and electronic systems.

Equipment and Applications:
• Solid computer knowledge, preferred experience in Microsoft Office products and Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Harness manufacture, soldering, harness bench test equipment, MA System Monitor/ATLAS.
• Ability to follow direction on the complex regulations related to shipment of materials and facility maintenance requirements.
Work Environment Physical Demands:
An ability to work and prioritize within a high pressure, time sensitive environment while retaining a methodical approach is essential. The role may require occasional domestic and international travel and a willingness to work long and flexible hours including weekends.
This position may require lifting to 50 pounds, repeated bending, squatting and manual dexterity. Fast- paced work environment requiring heavy mental demands. Work environment includes machinery, race cars, 7-post and other rigs, grinding debris, and hazardous fluids. All employees must ensure compliance with the Company Health and Safety Policy, and all relevant other statutory Health and Safety legislation.
