Job Title: HGV Grand Prix Truckie
Job Description:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Class 1 Truckie to join our ever-expanding Grand Prix racing team. You will provide logistics support, ensuring all equipment and cars are delivered to venues around the UK and Europe by Class 1 transport. You will also be responsible for the weekend set up then wheels and tyres for cars on events, and the upkeep and maintenance of equipment within the service area. UK/EU travel is an essential part of this role. You will be required to work at the factory in Silverstone between events, preparing the vehicles and equipment before deploying ahead of the teams by road across UK/EU.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver cars and equipment to tight deadlines in UK/Europe obeying customs clearance procedures.
Take responsibilities for wheels and tyres for the Grand Prix under guidance from the Team Managers.
Ensure vehicles and equipment are transported correctly and handled and care to prevent damage being caused in transit.
Ensure all vehicles are kept in a permanently clean and presentable condition both inside and out, at the workshop and on events.
Be responsible for the set up and pack down in accordance the championship organisations rules.
Ensure legality within O Licence regulation, Drivers Hours & WTD.
Who are we looking for:
Our ideal candidate will have a Class 1 Driving licence with an up-to-date licence and current DCPC, as well as previous experience within a motorsport driving role, ideally within the Grand Prix formulars, although on-event training will be provided. European driving experience is essential, with knowledge of customs procedures in relation to ATA carnets. Experience of co-ordinating tyres on events whilst being comfortable with long and unsociable hours as well as traveling to events within the UK and EU.
Main Duties include:
Ensure upkeep of all truck pit equipment at events & workshop.
Driver race trucks to/from UK & EU races and Tests.
Ensure safe loading & unloaded of all trucks.
Participate in garage set up, management of tyres & fuels.
Ensure company image is maintained at each event.
Assist the transport Manager with all vehicle maintenance regarding vehicle PMI/LVBT/MOT’s, whilst back in the workshop.
Minimum Requirements:
2 years previous motorsport experience
Must hold valid Class 1 HGV licence
Experience of managing tyres & fuel at minimum F3 level
Must be over 23 years old
Role involves extensive EU travel so valid passport is required
