The Combined position (Chief Mechanic / Junior Race Engineer) will work within the Ginetta Categories and focus on Ginetta Juniors, Ginetta GTA and Ginetta GTP8.  The Chief Mechanic / Junior Race engineer will work along side the permanent Race Engineer to ensure cars are prepared and engineered to the required standard.

Trackside engineering:

  • Turn driver feedback into actionable setup changes—know the difference between a complaint and a problem.
  • Strategy calls for qualifying & races (track position, out-laps, traffic, cooldowns).
  • Liaise with officials on regs, parc fermé and any technical directives.

Performance & analysis:

  • Data and video: log configuration, sensor sanity checks, channel maths, sector analysis, driver coaching notes.
  • Correlate driver comments with data.

Workshop & Trackside Chief Mechanic:

  • Mentor Number 1 and Number 2 Mechanics to implement the required processes and procedures.
  • Lead Test and Race weekend Ginett Team activities.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in Mechanical/Automotive/Motorsport Engineering with proven Chief Mechanic experience in single-seaters, or GT Cars, or similar
  • Strong data skills with typical junior-formula toolchains (e.g. AIM Race Studio, video VBOX)
  • Calm communication with young drivers and busy parents. Direct, fair, and unflappable.
  • Strong grasp of vehicle/mechanical dynamics with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Calm under pressure with sound, timely decision-making.
  • Collaborative team player who lifts those around them.
  • Clear, confident communicator with drivers, engineers and stakeholders.
  • Fully flexible and willing to travel throughout the season, including at short notice.
  • Full UK driving licence (towing experience an advantage)
