Mahindra Racing is a motor racing team based in Banbury, United Kingdom, competing with an Indian racing license. The team is currently competing in the electric FIA Formula E Championship since the inaugural season in 2014
Role Overview:
As a Finance Controller & BI Analyst, you will support the Finance and Controlling teams by:
- Complying with Financial Regulations & Cost cap submission requirements as per FIA regulations
- Analysing financial performance and supporting decision-making with accurate data.
- Preparing budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis to monitor business performance.
- Designing and automating reports and dashboards to streamline management reporting.
- Acting as a link between Finance and Data, ensuring reliable KPIs for the leadership team.
Main Responsibilities:
Financial Analysis & Management Control
- Participate in budgeting and forecasting cycles (annual, quarterly, and rolling forecasts).
- Conduct variance analysis between actuals, budgets, and forecasts, with detailed commentary.
- Support monthly management reporting (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, KPIs).
- Assist in strategic decision-making with ad hoc financial studies.
Reporting & Business Intelligence
- Develop and maintain automated financial dashboards (Power BI, Tableau).
- Improve data reliability and consistency in ERP and BI reporting.
- Provide KPI monitoring for Finance, Operations, and Executive teams.
- Drive reporting process optimization to reduce manual tasks.
Projects & Continuous Improvement
- Support digital transformation projects within Finance and Controlling.
- Collaborate with IT/Data teams to improve data flows and reporting architecture.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization and performance improvement.
Qualifications, skills and experience required:
Finance & Controlling
- Strong understanding of FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Knowledge of P&L structure, cash flow management, and financial KPIs.
- Experience in Financial Regulations / cost cap submissions
Technical
- Power BI or other BI tools (Tableau, Qlik) – required for dashboarding.
- Advanced Excel (Power Query, Pivot Tables) and SQL for data extraction.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (Sage / SAP FI/CO, Oracle).
Soft Skills
- Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate complex financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.
- Proactive and structured, with a drive for process improvement.
Education & Experience
- Master’s degree in finance, Management Control, Accounting, or Business Analytics.
- 3–5 years’ experience in FP&A, management control, or financial analysis.
- Experience in BI/automation for financial reporting is a strong asset.
- Professional English required; French or another language is a plus in international contexts
