We are looking for a full time skilled Wiring Harness Technician to join our electrics & electronics department.

Job Summary:

Package: Salary depending on experience + company pension scheme

Location: Swindon

Job Type: Permanent

Start Date:  January 2018

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

Responsible for ensuring the successful build of wiring harnesses to support test and low volume production activities. Primary duties will include:

  • Correct handling and inspection of components before manufacture
  • Manufacture of prototype and low volume wiring harnesses using hand tools
  • Daily up keep of wiring harness build logs
  • Ensuring all relevant health and safety regulations are adhered to
  • Being prepared to adopt a flexible approach to working hours to ensure development activities are carried out as and when required
  • Supporting design team with updates to wiring build manuals
  • Ability to work in a safe and autonomous manner at all times

 

Skills and Experience:

The ideal candidate will be able to:

  • Assemble wiring harnesses to Raychem system25 specification, having at least two years experience
  • Process and report build concerns
  • Work independently (with guidance where required), manage their time and prioritise tasks effectively
  • Make decisions with sound organisational and technical reasoning under pressure
  • Present information clearly and concisely through written and verbal communication
  • Use IT systems and be proficient with Microsoft Office

 

Desirable knowledge and experience:

  • HNC/HND in an automotive subject required (time served technicians considered)
  • Previous experience in a prototype wiring harness assembly environment
