General Summary:

Andretti Autosport seeks a Wire Harness Builder to support our race team in Indianapolis, IN. This position is responsible for wiring car and accessories such as switches, sensors and connectors. The ideal candidate can work quickly with great attention to detail and fully understand basic electrical circuits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform wiring, harnessing, cabling (including wire stripping), crimping, layout and lacing
  • Read work orders
  • Trouble shoot and diagnose basic electrical circuits
  • Read voltage, amperage draw, and resistance using multi-meter
  • Read engineering blueprints, basic wiring schematics and diagrams
  • Terminate harnesses using solder, solid barrel contacts, heat shrink, Deutsch connectors, and various automotive connectors using propper tooling
  • Wire switches, relays, fuses, PTO, analog and CAN bus sensors and RF/coax connectors.

Education, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • High School diploma or higher education
  • Experience with Mil-Spec wiring techniques using moulded heat shrink boots, cable adhesives and service loops preferred
  • Experience with analog sensor, RS232, Ethernet and CAN bus wiring preferred
  • Experience with mechanical assemblies, preferred
  • Experience working in the aircraft/avionics industry is a plus
  • Able to follow proper safety procedures and guidelines
  • Must be able to adjust to changes
  • Highly organized and driven to meet deadlines
  • Can focus on detailed projects through their completion
  • Maintain safe, clean, efficient work area
