The suitable candidate will report to the Head of VPG and be contributing to the development of the physical car model and simulations, with a firm focus on car performance. They will also be involved in other VPG activities: pre/post-event analysis, race support, DIL operation and development.
Candidates should have a robust technical background in applied mathematics, physics or engineering, ideally around automotive/racing environment.
Core Skills & Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of the physical car model and its correlation to reality
- Make improvement to the existing simulations, and propose new ways of approaching performance challenges
- Work with customers (performance and controls engineers mainly) to ensure their simulation needs are met
- Maintain and develop vehicle performance related tools
- Complete performance analysis as required, particularly before and after each race event
- Support race and test events
- Contribute to simulator development and operations
Requirements:
- Minimum BSc in Mathematics, Computational Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering or similar.
- Prior experience working in an industrial related field beneficial
- Sound knowledge and experience with MATLAB and Simulink
