Welcome to the Audi F1 Project.
From 2026, Audi will compete in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship.
The new team has two locations. Audi's motorsport competence center in Neuburg (Germany) is considered one of the most modern of its kind in Europe. The Sauber Group's Formula 1 factory in Hinwil (Switzerland) is known for innovative technologies and passion for racing. The power unit comes from Neuburg, while Hinwil is responsible for the development of the chassis and race operations. The planned takeover by AUDI AG turns two teams into one factory team - and you can be part of it.

The position for the Audi F1 Project is to be filled at Audi Formula Racing GmbH in Neuburg (Germany).

In the area of combustion engine development, you will work on the thermodynamics and mechanical development of a high-performance unit. It is your task in the area of exhaust gas turbocharging to develop the maximum performance and efficiency of the engine while maintaining the required reliability, both in the concept and design phase as well as in the commissioning and testing phase.



  • Development of a highly efficient, innovative charging system from concept to racing use 
  • Thermodynamic development of the exhaust gas turbocharger and the charge air and exhaust gas control systems with a focus on design, testing and 3D-CFD calculations
  • Mechanical development of a highly charged exhaust turbocharger for a high-performance racing engine
  • Independent planning, implementation and evaluation of 3D CFD simulations or investigations on engine and hot gas test benches
  • Analysis of test results and damage patterns as well as development of optimization measures in the area of the charging assembly



  • Technical studies in the field of mechanical engineering, automotive technology, fluid dynamics (Bachelor, Master, Diploma or Dr.-Ing.)
  • Several years of professional experience in the area of turbocharger design (thermodynamic testing and mechanical testing or simulations using 3D-CFD calculations) on high-performance combustion engines
  • Broad knowledge of engine technology with very good knowledge of engine testing, measurement technology and tribology
  • Experience operating hot gas test benches
  • Strong teamwork, organizational skills and a high sense of responsibility
  • Independent and precise way of working
  • Fluent German or English skills as well as the willingness to learn basic knowledge of the other language are required
