Envision Racing is a UK based Formula E Team competing in the FIA Formula E World Championship and seeks a qualified and experienced Systems Engineer to be employed full time. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to thrive in this challenging yet highly rewarding role.

 

Systems Engineer – Formula E Team

  • Reporting to the Technical Director, this role will have responsibility to monitor, calibrate and optimise the electrical systems and sensors on the car to ensure the cars run safely and reliably.
  • The role also includes implementing the correct software versions on the car, data analysis, and data acquisition from the onboard loggers.
  • Attendance at race events, tests and simulator sessions as required.

 

Key technical requirements:

  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years relevant experience in motorsport or the automotive industry working with high voltage electric vehicles.
  • A strong degree result in a relevant subject; Electrical, Software or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Previous experience in programming and calibrating ECU datasets in control system software such as INCA, System Monitor, RaceCon or similar.
  • Experience with data acquisition and analysis software such as Wintax, Atlas, Motec i2 or Windarab.
  • Strong knowledge of computer systems, automotive communication protocols and wiring looms.
  • Precision in managing all trackside electrical systems and equipment.
  • Follow and maintain all safety regulations and engineering procedures.
  • Proven experience in designing innovative electrical equipment is desirable.
  • Experience with programming in MATLAB, C#, Python or VBA would be an advantage.

 

Desired skills:

  • A proven ability to fault-find and create solutions under pressure.
  • The candidate should have the ability to be highly detail focused whilst managing workloads in different disciplines.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and multicultural environment.
  • Self-motivation with a will to contribute to the end goal.

 

This position is based at Silverstone in our purpose-built workshop with free onsite parking and surrounded by forests and with an onsite gym to unwind during breaks. The role will require international travel and long flexible hours.
