In business like in motorsport, data is everywhere and creating value out of it is now a key part of the operations on any successful company. Analytics, simulation and modeling tools are readily available and can be used not only to measure performance but also to identify a trend or a situation.
We have experience in developing data processing tools, KPI's and dashboards that work in real time to analyse performance and make objective decisions. We have successfully created data analysis tools for clients such as : Audi, BMW and Aston Martin.
Performance Simulations is a company providing simulation and data analytics services for motorsport and professional sports applications. We work with various motorsport and sailing teams worldwide to develop, analyse and optimize actionable metrics to help our customers in their decision making. Our team is expanding and we are seeking a systems engineer to join our motorsport department, starting immediately.
You will be reporting to the chief engineer, your role will be to support customers competing in the IMSA and WEC championships. You will be responsible for all electronics and data acquisition systems relating to the car and their integration into our data analytics tools.
Responsibilities
Attend race events to support integration of race car data acquisition and telemetry systems with our data anlaytics and race strategy tools
Oversee electrical and electronic system installation and calibration
Configuration of hardware communication (CAN and network communications, etc.)

Base
The company is based in Québec, Canada.

Experience
At least 5 years experience in professional motorsport (WEC, IMSA, IndyCar, DTM, Formula E, etc.) in a systems, drivetrain or controls engineer position.
Specialised Knowledge and Skills
BSc or MSc in electrical or mechanical engineering, or similar experience
Minimum 5 years experience in motorsport in a similar role
Knowledge of data analytics tools such as Tableau, Power Bi and Spotfire
Solid programming experience: Matlab, Python, etc.
Knowledge of motorsport electrical systems and software’s (Bosch, Marelli, Motec, Cosworth)
Excellent English written and oral communication skills
Knowledge of hybrid electric systems, a plus.
Basic knowledge of race strategy, a plus
Knowledge of French, a plus
Analytical and methodical worker
Other
Applicants must have a clean driving record
Applicants must have no criminal record to be able to travel to races and test events
