OUR TEAM

Welcome to the Audi F1 Project.

From 2026, Audi will compete in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship.

The new team has two locations. Audi's Motorsport Competence Center in Neuburg (Germany) is considered one of the most modern of its kind in Europe. The Sauber Group's Formula 1 factory in Hinwil (Switzerland) is known for innovative technologies and passion for racing. The power unit comes from Neuburg, while the chassis is developed in Hinwil. The takeover by AUDI AG turns two teams into one factory team - and you can be part of it.

What do you need to bring with you? The mindset of an athlete. So if you are someone who never gives up and for whom limits are only something to be overcome, then bring technology with us to Formula 1. Become part of the unique project and make motorsport history.

The position for the Audi F1 Project is available at Audi Formula Racing GmbH at the Neuburg (Germany) site.

In the area of software, you work on key components that bring the power unit's performance to the racetrack and contribute to competitiveness in a highly competitive environment. You work with an agile team to implement the dynamic requirements for the software and the configuration of the power unit's systems (combustion engine, electrical components, battery and power electronics). You support our test team on the test bench and during racing. Through tests at component and system level, you ensure the validation and continuous development of our power unit in the Audi F1 project. In addition, you support the tests on test benches and on race weekends in the OPS / Mission Control room in Neuburg.

Your tasks

You will be responsible for configuring and maintaining key control systems on our Formula 1 Power Unit. You will ensure that the systems deliver the best performance during bench testing and race weekends and provide runtime data to all PU development and performance engineers. You will be actively involved in the further development of the software tools to achieve this goal.

  • You take full responsibility for the configuration data of important control units (ECUs) and support commissioning and calibration
  • You develop and maintain system configuration tools (application tools, databases)
  • You define hardware tools for data collection and processing
  • You support the developers of off-car tools in the development and maintenance of data collection tools

Your profile

  • Successfully completed university degree in computer science, electrical engineering or similar
  • Experience with data analysis software/tools used in high-end motorsport applications (Atlas, System Monitor, TeamDB, etc.)
  • Excellent knowledge of real-time embedded systems and common bus systems in the automotive sector
  • Good understanding of vehicle networks and communication protocols (CAN, XCP, automotive ethernet etc.)
  • Mastery of Matlab/Simulink and their interface to the operating system
  • Experience on or off the racetrack (OPS / Mission Control) in high-class motorsport series
  • Willingness, high motivation and flexibility to support the Grand Prix from Neuburg on the weekends
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Fluent German or English skills and the willingness to learn basic knowledge of the other language are required
