Mahindra Racing is a motor racing team based in Banbury, United Kingdom, competing with an Indian racing licence. The team is currently competing in the electric FIA Formula E Championship since the inaugural season in 2014

 

Role Overview:
We require a Simulator Engineer to join our driver-in-the-loop (DIL) simulator team. This person can be a recent grad or a highly experienced DIL Operator, we
are open to the level of seniority for the person to take on this role.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Configure and operate the DIL simulators during race preparation, on event race support and development sessions.
  • Assist with DIL development and maintenance, both hardware and software.
  • Assist with the development and documentation of DIL operating procedures.


Qualifications, skills and experience required:

Prerequisites:

  • A degree in a numerate discipline.
  • Familiarity with electronic systems, both hardware and software.
  • Basic knowledge of ethernet and CAN protocols.
  • Familiarity with race car vehicle dynamics.
  • Some knowledge of race car sensors and wiring.
  • Ability to read and understand Matlab/Simulink.


Desirable:

  • Experience operating and/or developing DIL/HIL simulators.
  • Knowledge of real time embedded software development.
  • Experience with any of the following:

a. rFactor
b. Canopy
c. Vector Canoe
4. Experience developing/calibrating vehicle and tire models.
