Simulator Engineer – Andretti Formula E
Andretti Formula E, winners of the Season 9 Formula E World Drivers Championship are looking to expand its Engineering team in the UK ahead of the coming season. This expansion is part of the long-term growth and development of the organisation.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join the engineering department to manage our Driver in the Loop Simulator (DIL) and assist in a wide variety of tasks
You will be expected to be an integral part of the team that always operates the in a professional and safe manner while ensuring that Engineering requirements and requests are met promptly and accurately.
Base: Banbury OXON; ability to work in the UK
Degree educated in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Automotive Engineering or similar
Key Responsibilities
- Development and management of the DIL and all associated vehicle models
- Manage DIL simulator Sessions
- Assist in a variety of engineering tasks and projects
- Attendance in Ops room and tests as required
- Preparation of standard performance orientated reports as required
- Follow Engineering procedures and protocols, pertaining to assembly, operation and safety.
- Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships between all personnel and departments.
- Responsibility for the cleanliness and condition of work area, the garage, the factory, all tools and equipment.
Specialized Knowledge and Required Skills
- A strong willingness and self motivation to work to the highest standards with an exceptional attitude towards attention to detail.
- A basic understanding of vehicle dynamics, aerodynamics and control systems
- Experience with DIL simulators and lap time simulation would be an advantage
- You should be comfortable in your ability to communicate both in written and verbal form when discussing engineering solutions and requirements
- Solid computer knowledge and competent in the use of multiple packages and platforms with preferred experience in Microsoft Office products, MatLab/Simulink and VBA.
