Simulation Development Engineer

 

The suitable candidate will be a key part of the Performance Group, with an active contribution to improving the performance of the car through the development of vehicle software tools across the tyre science, energy management and race strategy domains.

 

Candidates should have a robust technical background in applied mathematics / mechanical engineering with proven experience on software development as well as a general understanding of vehicle dynamics.

 

Core Skills & Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of the physical car model software and its correlation to reality, with emphasis on code maintenance and code generation.
  • Make improvement / develop new software simulations tools, working closely with tyre science, performance, energy management, and race strategy engineers.
  • Support performance analysis as required, particularly before, during and after each race event.
  • Contribute to Driver-in-the-loop software development and operations. 

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum BSc in Mathematics, Computational Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering or similar.
  • Prior experience working in an industrial related field would be beneficial, specially within an automotive domain.
  • Sound knowledge and experience with MATLAB and Simulink.
  • Knowledge and experience of software development in C, C++, C#, VB, Python, or similar.
  • Knowledge of software lifecycles, development environment, source management and collaboration tools.
