Mahindra Racing Formula E Team has the following requirements as we expand capability in our UK facility. All roles are non-travelling based full time in Oxfordshire.

 

Senior Software & Controls Engineer

Working within our software team, the role includes responsibility for creation, maintenance and development of on-car software and control systems. Significant contributions will be expected with regards to setting up best practices for software development and maintenance. Responsible for implementation of software documentation and user-guides. Will contribute to vehicle performance optimisation including development of energy deployment and brake-by-wire control strategies. Weekend support of race events from our factory will be required.

 

Key skills:

  • Extensive experience of designing, writing and developing on-car embedded control system software
  • Good appreciation of interaction between control systems and vehicle dynamics
  • Strong knowledge of race car control systems
  • Proficient in Matlab/Simulink, C and all related build tools as well as PC based languages
  • Proficient with all McLaren tools including ATLAS, System Monitor, VTag
  • Experience with operation and control of motorsport brake-by-wire systems
  • Trackside engineering experience is desirable
  • Excellent inter-personal and reporting skills to clearly disseminate engineering information

 

The ideal candidate will have minimum 5 years relevant experience in a top-level motorsport environment (FE, F1, WEC).

 

In addition we expect the successful candidate to have:

  • A proven ability to work to tight deadlines in a group or alone
  • Willingness to work in a dynamic and multicultural environment
  • Self-motivation with a will to contribute to race support
  • Experience and appreciation of Motorsport engineering role requirements
  • A strong degree result in a relevant subject
  • Good English written and oral communication skills
