Tuthill Porsche is based in Oxfordshire and completes restoration projects and builds bespoke road cars. All aspects of Porsche rebuilds are carried out in-house, including engine and transmission builds, rust repair, metal fabrication, roll cage installation and full body paint. We are synonymous with the world’s most successful historic Porsche rally and race cars and have worked with some of rallying’s greatest names.

We are looking for a Sub-Assembly Technician to join the race team. Within this position, the successful candidate will be responsible for the assembly of a wide range of car parts along with associated jigs, fixtures and tooling parts within our dedicated assembly team environment.
The working hours in this position are Monday to Friday 08:00-17:00 with a 45 minute lunch break, a total of 41.25 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Motorsport and Special Projects teams with the rebuilding of key suspension and precision components.
- Ensure all lifeing records are maintained
- Actively participate in daily process meetings and provide production feedback to the relevant department
- Daily machine and equipment maintenance
- Ensure that the assemblies and vehicles worked on are carefully handled, and that all reasonable care is taken
- Ensure all problems are reported to the engineering or management team as necessary.
- To build / rebuild rally and race cars
- Ensure the rally and race cars are built consistently, to the highest standards and meets the relevant set up parameters and all the criteria of the build specification
- To problem solve and diagnose faults with minimum supervision
- Deliver constant improvements to the rally and race cars when required
- Suggest avenues of further development to facilitate future improvement of the car.
- Event support (optional)
- Responsibility for the cleanliness and condition of your work area within the workshop, and all tools and equipment.
- Complying with all safe systems of work processes in an automotive assembly environment
Skills and Personal Attributes:
- Show good knowledge of mechanical engineering and an understanding of manufacturing and inspection methods
- Ability to work within a fast moving, dynamic working environment to tight deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to work constructively as part of a team
- Able to work to very high standards, sometimes under extreme time pressure to meet deadlines
- Desire to improve ways of working and generate new ideas
Personal Specification:
- Strong experience in the assembly of precision parts, components or sub-assemblies
- Experience working on, and understanding of car components is essential
- Practical experience in Precision Machining or Engineering
- High level of Mechanical/Engineering skills and principles
- Previous use of hand or air tools
- Previous experience in motorsport desirable
- Must hold a valid driving licence
