Race Engineer F4

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced race engineer with strong F4 knowledge. 

Real Racing is a racing team with 17 years of experience in top level karting races and from 2024 we will start single seater racing division to compete in Formula 4 races in Italian and European Championship. Our program is scheduled on minimum 3 years with the aim of competing at highest level of performance. 

We are based in Bedizzole (Brescia), Italy and we will compete with a Romanian License.

Role overview:

A part time job where main role is to manage and give leadership to the car crew and to oversee the work of the technical team. The job responsibilities will include assigning tasks to data engineers and mechanics, define and develope car and setup procedures, prepare and execute run plans for test and race events, manage and assist driver in extracting his full potential and the one car and team. Reports to team manager and technical director.

Main Responsibilities:

• Build procedures and build manuals to be followed by team personnel (mechanics, engineers)
• Lead a small group of mechanics and engineers working in the team.
• Create job lists covering, reparations and race-preparation.
• Attend and support all selected track events as required.
• Working with the engineering group to create Pre and Post Event Reports.
• Create and excecute session run plans and race strategies.
• Work closely with drivers to coach and improve their performance.
• Responsible for the safe and reliable running of our f4 cars during test days and events while coordinating team members.
• Work well within a team environment.
• Hands-on experience with data acquisition hardware (loom, data logger, sensor technologies, etc.) and relevant software

Qualifications, skills, and experience required:

• Good knowledge of vehicle dynamics, data software (MM Wintax) required, capacities in programming (Wintax maths channels, VBA, others) would be a plus
• Flexibility to work during weekends and holidays
• Experience in a similar role with F4 cars is recommended.
• Someone with a positive attitude who wants to improve team performance as a whole.
• A high attention to detail and work ethic.
• Valid Driver’s license
• Fluent English, other language is a plus.
