NIO 333 Racing Formula E Team, a manufacturer team competing in The FIA Formula E World Championship have a requirement for a RACE ENGINEER.


Reporting to the Chief Race Engineer, you will have :-

  • Responsibility for managing all Trackside engineering aspects related to one of the NIO 333 manufacturer team cars and associated professional drivers.
  • Excellent confidence inspiring driver management skills.
  • Excellent planning, procedural, compliance, scheduling and communication skills, to ensure all engineering requirements and requests from across the team are fulfilled at the track.
  • Responsibility for analysing data alongside various inputs from the supporting engineers and driver, to quickly decide on the vehicle optimisation direction.
  • Responsibility for leading driver simulator sessions as required, leading vehicle track testing and development requirements.
  • A leading hand in the development of racing best practices, procedural workflow and performance metric indexes for all trackside activities, to ensure management of the car, mechanics, associated engineers and driver, extract the maximum performance possible for the given conditions.
  • A minimum 5 years relevant experience race engineering at the highest levels of motorsport i.e. Formula E, Formula 1, Formula 2, WEC, Indycar etc
  • A lifestyle that allows and enjoys extensive international travel.


Core Skills

  • Excellent and demonstrable trackside engineering ability.
  • Ability to remain clear, calm and maintain consistent communication channels with other engineers, mechanics and senior management at all times.
  • In-depth knowledge of vehicle dynamics and interaction with electric powertrain control systems.
  • Vehicle performance development and testing experience.
  • Proficiency with modern data analysis tools.
  • Class leading planning, radio communication and organisational skills.
  • Control of strategic decision-making deployment with the support of other Team Engineers.
  • Implementation, development and maintenance of trackside communication and timing procedures.
  • Demonstrable management ability to lead a small team of mechanics and engineers.
  • Excellent inter-personal and reporting skills to clearly disseminate engineering information.
  • Degree educated (Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics)
