Role Overview:

Primary function is to oversee & coordinate R&D activities and projects for high performance electric vehicles leading a small R&D Dept and numerous personnel

 

Main Responsibilities:

Define and coordinate all R&D activities from measuring component performance characteristics to planning and execution of internal & external rig tests in close cooperation with our technical partners and suppliers.

Coordinate with the Design, Race Engineering & Electronics/Systems Engineering Departments on all aspects of chassis and powertrain engineering facilitating all testing, component/assembly characterisation and final sign-off/approval for track use.

 

Qualifications, skills and experience required:

  • Degree level academic background in engineering,
  • At least 10 years of experience in the relevant automotive/motorsport areas of R&D testing
  •  Basic CAD skills, good understanding of technical drawings and development tools & methodologies
  • Rich knowledge of materials and their specific characteristics and properties
  • Previous motorsport experience is not essential but highly recommended, preferably not limited to single seaters only
  • Experience in design of metal & composite structures is highly sort after
  • Understanding High Voltage Electrical Powertrain Components is beneficial, willing to learn the various aspects of Electrical Powertrains is fundamental
  • Has both the functional and technical knowledge and skills to do the job at a high level of accomplishment
  • Takes a practical approach and uses rigorous logic and engineering methods to solve problems with effective and robust solutions
  • Effective written and oral communication skills in English
  • Works methodically with attention to detail
  • Embraces Benchmarking and works to achieve defined Objective Targets
  • Demonstrates alignment to our Company values; Honesty, Care, Vision, Action; works well in a team and respects others.
  • Leads by example, can and will motivate his team and his peers
  • Personal flexibility to work hours as required including from time to time working in weekends
  • Occasional travelling to technical partners, suppliers & test events
