The Role:

The role of the Quality Manager is to ensure the efficient running of the company Quality systems through meeting job timescales and demands, ensuring all parts and tooling produced are to customer’s standards. In addition, it is imperative the role maintains our AS9100 accreditation now that we have achieved that benchmark and ensures the continued development, improvement and adherence of the associated quality management system (and its documentation) that supports this accreditation.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Mentoring and guidance of the Inspection Department
  • Ensure that the Quality Management System (QMS) is maintained at all time
  • Report to management on the performance of the QMS and any need for improvements/updates
  • To liaise with customers, facilitating the AQPQ process and prepare any necessary FAIR or PPAP packages for new or changed parts
  • Liaising directly with suppliers to achieve set quality targets and monitor supplier validation
  • Liaise with customers ensuring the execution of corrective actions and compliance with specifications and promote the awareness of customer requirements
  • Organise and run Quality inductions with all employees
  • Oversee recording, investigation and completion of customer NCRs liaising with Project Managers and Quality Engineer
  • Liaise with external assessment body on all matters related to the external accreditation process (ISO/AS)
  • To attend new product and production meetings to ensure quality procedures are considered and adhered to.
  • Auditing internal processes
  • Control of Quarantine process areas
  • To ensure Calibration of Inspection equipment is completed at regular intervals
  • To assist when necessary with various project related tasks
  • To develop, audit, manage and maintain GTR H&S systems and procedures


 Knowledge, Experience, Attributes:

  • Previous experience within a Quality Management role
  • Experience in a similar fast paced / high pressure environment (automotive/F1 industry desirable)
  • Dynamic, proactive attitude with strong influencing and relationship management skills at all levels within business hierarchy
  • Experience of managing a team including recruitment, probations, appraisals, disciplinary, and other employee relation issues.
  • High level of technical competence coupled with strong problem-solving skills
  • Resilient under pressure with the ability to deliver to deadlines
  • Good planning & organisational skills
  • Hardworking, dedicated and adaptable
  • Composites experience desired but not essential
