General Summary:

Fixed term contract 3 – 6 months

This position reports to the Director of Procurement or their designee; and is located in Banbury, UK. Responsible for general administration, aiding the Buyers in raising purchase orders as requested by the relevant departments and help with the purchasing administration as required. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships between all personnel and departments.
  • Reviewing supplier register to ensure all key suppliers have signed and returned the following documents; Confidentiality Disclosure Agreements, SLG Code of Conduct, T&C’s, Manufacturing Agreements (Licensed and non-Licensed)
  • Act as primary contact for the New Supplier Setup Process.
  • Carry out data input support activities for the Expediters and the Buyers to help ensure that the ERP System (AX) is kept up to date with the latest delivery information to allow other departments to have the latest ‘current’ situations.
  • Chasing acknowledgements for non-stock orders.
  • Progressing purchase orders and reporting on supply issues to the Buyers.
  • Check Pro forma invoices and obtain approval signature
  • Point of contact for accounts on supplier invoice queries
  • Stores booking in queries- liaison with Goods In and Finance.
  • Amending dates on PO’s and Subcontract jobs
  • Issuing components to subcontract jobs
  • Scanning, filing and administration of all purchase orders
  • Follow all safety regulations in all venues.
  • Assumes any responsibilities and duties delegated by the Director of Purchasing or their designee.


Education and Work Experience:

GCSE, High School diploma or equivalent required. Work experience in a professional motorsports environment or purchasing function preferred.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

  • Communication within a team environment including phone, skype, email and IM at a clear and professional level
  • Ability to work under pressure, conflict resolution, and task prioritisation.
  • Time management and effective collaboration over multiple time zones.


Equipment and Applications:

  • Solid computer knowledge, fully competent with Microsoft Office products. Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 experience helpful.
  • Educated to minimum of ‘A’ Level standard or above
  • Excellent numeracy & literacy skills
  • Fully conversant with Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel and Skype.


Work Environment Physical Demands:

An ability to work and prioritize within a high pressure, time sensitive environment while retaining a methodical approach is essential. The role may require a willingness to work occasional extended or flexible hours including weekends.


This position may require lifting to 50 pounds, repeated bending, squatting and manual dexterity. Fast-paced work environment requiring heavy mental demands. Work environment includes machinery, race cars, 7-post and other rigs, grinding debris, and hazardous fluids. All employees must ensure compliance with the Company Health and Safety Policy, and all relevant other statutory Health and Safety legislation.
