We have exciting opportunities for talented Prototype Electrical Build Technicians to join our fast- paced electrical team and be part of a company that values continuous learning and growth. You will work at our specialised and low-volume automotive manufacturing operation near Heathrow.


These are key roles and to be successful you will be passionate with hands-on experience to proactively contribute across our present and future vehicle programmes.

Your day-to-day- tasks

  • Fault finding electrical issues on prototype vehicles
  • Repair and improvements to wiring harnesses
  • Ensuring stock of electrical parts is maintained to avoid part shortages
  • Working with engineers on upgrade projects on prototype vehicles and LABcars
  • Supporting events and tests off-site as required
  • Creating harnesses and test leads, battery cables, and high-voltage cables will also be a feature
  • Supporting permits to work with high-voltage rework

Technical Expertise

  • Good experience with automotive connector systems and crimping
  • Excellent prototyping skills - Wiring harnesses
  • Ability to problem solve, especially related to vehicle electrical systems
  • Ability to problem solve by coming up with quick gadgets to solve problems
  • Basic knowledge of electrical theory
  • Ability to read and interpret 2D harness drawings and schematics
  • Competent in using current clamps, multimeter and general workshop tools
  • Basic knowledge of CAN buses with an interest to learn more
  • Basic understanding of High voltage safety systems on Electric vehicles
  • Safe working practices for High voltage systems
  • Basic soldering skills
  • Basic CAD skills (viewing and analysis)
