Production Engineer

Lifeline Fire & Safety Systems Ltd are the leading global manufacturer of fire suppression and safety equipment in the Motorsport and Defence sectors. We are looking for an innovative Production Engineer to join our team in Coventry.

The successful applicant will demonstrate a wide range of skills to enable us to manufacture existing and new products more efficiently, with high levels of quality and repeatability. The role will also require a close working relationship with our production, technical & quality departments to ensure seamless transition from prototype to production.

The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate the following skills:

• Act as a point of liaison for engineering and manufacturing
• Management of engineering change requests
• Ability to produce engineering drawings in 2 & 3D
• Ability to design & manufacture tooling, jigs and fixtures.
• Develop manufacturing KPIs and the maintenance thereafter.
• Identify manufacturing needs for new products in development
• Design new systems and processes and provide facilities & methods to ensure the cost-effective integration of new products or for the improvement of existing ones into manufacturing operations
• Ensure all product and system requirements are taken into account from the initial product conception to the finished result
• Assist with shop floor layout and cell designs 
• Generating production documentation such as assembly instructions
• Reduce variability in manufacturing by providing standard work methods and work instructions
• Ensure product and process quality meets specifications required
• Maintenance and repair of tooling and machinery.

The successful applicant will have a good understanding of the principles of Production Engineering. They will have the drive and enthusiasm to develop a strong understanding of the manufacturing processes and design principles used in the manufacture of the product. They will combine this knowledge with their existing technical skills and strong interpersonal and organisation skills to support the manufacturing processes to meet business targets and expectations, whilst delivering continuous improvement.

Salary: £32,000 to £35,000 dependent upon experience
