Powertrain Dyno Technician

FULL TIME       Alzenau, Germany       With Professional Experience

 

Based in Alzenau, near Frankfurt/M. in Germany, Hyundai Motorsport GmbH is responsible for Hyundai's global motorsport activities and primarily for its World Rally Championship program. 

We are currently looking for a creative Dyno Test Technician working within the Testing and Simulation Team. In this role you will have the opportunity to utilize state of the art physical testing to prove out Powertrain systems, covering the ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) and HPS (Hybrid Power System),

 

Main tasks

  • Maintain and operate an engine test bench including associated equipment/auxiliaries and instrumentation
  • Hardware installation and removal
  • Perform daily routine tasks such as warm-up, start-up, control and performance checks
  • Operate the test console in line with internal procedures
  • Program test routines and automatized tests
  • Ensure a clean and safe workspace
  • Report faults and try to find solutions related to the test cell environment

 

Qualification

  • Apprenticeship in mechanical engineering
  • Minimum 3 years experience in high performance or motorsport powertrain testing
  • Experienced with hybrid powertrains is beneficial
  • Knowledge of test automation software (i.e. Morphee or Puma)
  • Knowledge of operating modern automated test equipment
  • Basic understanding of internal combustion engines, electric systems and sensors
  • Strong practical skills with good manual dexterity
  • Well-organized and methodical with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Proficiency in English
  • Proficiency in German (or willingness to learn it) is a plus
  • Flexible approach towards working hours in order to ensure development activities are carried out as and when required
