Mahindra Racing is a motor racing team based in Banbury, United Kingdom, competing with an Indian racing licence. The team is currently competing in the electric FIA Formula E Championship since the inaugural season in 2014


Role Overview:
This position reports to the RTS Chief Mechanic or their designee in Banbury, UK. Responsible for the inventory and management of stock levels for the Race Team Support department, working cross functionally to ensure accuracy and compliance with FIA regulations.

Main Responsibilities:
Parts Management – Taking ownership of parts throughout their lifecycle, for both current and future cars. This includes planning & allocation to ensure optimal use of the parts and highlighting any shortages. Alongside the Chief Mechanic you will ensure parts are serviced in line with their requirements and resource availability.
Part Lifing – Ensuring required components are lifed, both at the factory and working with the race team to ensure parts received at trackside are correctly recorded. Ensuring race and test mileage is applied promptly to all parts.
Part Quality Management – Carrying out inspection of components to ensure compliance with the part drawings and suitability for assembly. Liaising with suppliers on any quality issues to ensure rectification in timely manner.
Procedure Management – Create new procedures and processes in line with the role’s responsibilities as well as updating any existing procedures as necessary.


Qualifications, skills and experience required:
Knowledge & Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Sound understanding of race car components and assemblies.
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as the drive and initiative to work independently when required.
  • Experience in the use of LifeCheck or other component lifing systems is advantageous.
  • A comprehensive mechanical understanding gained in Formula 1 motor racing.
  • An ability to read and interpret technical drawings and information pertaining to assembly, periodic updates and modifications.
  • The ability to consistently work to the highest standards with an exceptional attitude towards attention to detail
  • A sympathetic approach to your work colleagues and an ability to integrate within a group environment.
  • A can-do positive approach and a willingness to help others is essential.
  • Communication, ability to work under pressure, self-motivation, time management, conflict resolution, adaptability, willingness to learn, etc.

Equipment and Applications:

  • Solid computer knowledge, preferred experience in Microsoft Office products, Microsoft Dynamics AX and 3DX
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to follow complex regulations related to shipment of materials and facility maintenance requirements.
  • Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships between all personnel and departments.
  • Responsibility for the cleanliness and condition of your work area
  • Ownership and management of stock-controlled parts covering the Race Team Support group.
  • Working with the trackside team to ensure Turnaround Sheets and Event Planner documents are pre-populated accordingly inline with strip and build plans stipulated by the RTS Manager and Chief Mechanics.
  • Support the Race Team Support Manager when required with Parts Allocation, Turnaround Planning and Parts Management
  • Working with external suppliers and technical partners to ensure correct and timely component deliveries.
  • Work closely with the SPC group to ensure UIIL and Inventory alignment between RTS, PMO and SPC
  • Work with the procurement and planning departments feeding back RTS shortages and highlight components for reorder.
  • Assist and support chosen departments to facilitate Turnarounds, Engineering Projects, Car Builds and Event Support.
  • Report reliability issues as they occur and seek advice before undertaking any out of the ordinary tasks.
  • Follow all safety regulations in all venues.
  • Assumes any responsibilities and duties delegated by the RTS Chief Mechanic or their designee.
