No2 Mechanic

Mahindra Racing is a motor racing team based in Banbury, United Kingdom, competing with an Indian racing license. The team is currently competing in the electric FIA Formula E Championship since the inaugural season in 2014.
Due to continuing company success and strategy plans, the Track Operations Department is seeking to appoint a No 2 Mechanic. This role is an exciting opportunity to join the world of electric racing. The successful candidate will have a passion for the automotive and racing sector. Working in a busy organisation, reporting to the Chief Mechanic it is required that the candidate is highly organised with attention to detail. Where accuracy and multi-tasking will be essential in a high-pressure environment.
Main Responsibilities:
· Build, maintain, service and support the Race/Test Team FE cars whilst working to build procedures and build manuals.
· Have a good understanding of chassis set up.
· Dealing with tight timelines during the track events, and factory build
· Work from supplied job lists covering car build and preparation.
· Attend and support all selected track events as required.
· Assist with garage infrastructure build and pack up following guidance from logistics department.
· Assist with development of equipment and maintenance of equipment to allow full and proper use.
· To work in and maintain a clean and tidy working environment whilst in the factory and at events.
· Carry out basic composite repairs if required.
· Assist with freight organization, loading and packing.
Qualifications, skills and experience required:
Essential:
· Previous motorsport experience in a similar role is essential.
· Ability to work to tight deadlines.
· Work unsupervised if required.
· Be a good team player with a positive attitude.
· Able to read and understand technical drawings.
· Have extremely high attention to detail.
· Comfortable travelling to international destinations for work.
· Working knowledge and understanding of chassis set-up techniques.
· Be presentable and well-organized.
· Good communication skills (with various departments within the team) + fluency in English
· Competent IT skills including MS Office.
· Hold a full driving license with UK entitlements.
Desirable:
· Known consignor trained to allow freight loading on site. (Training can be provided)
· HV safety trained to level 3 (training can be provided)
