Based at our Banbury headquarters and leading a small team of composites technicians, you will be focussed on preparing and maintaining all carbon composite bodywork and composite components for our race and rally programmes. The components will have initially been constructed and manufactured at our composites facility in Milton Keynes so in this role you will be responsible for maintaining and developing records, build manuals and codes of practice to ensure consistent high quality standards

You will be a key member of our race team and experience working at a circuit, in extreme conditions and working in a facotry, building motorsport composities is essential.

  • Key responsibilities:

  • Managing a small team dedicated to delivering a first class composite finishing and repair service

  • Working closely with Engineers in the development of future products

  • Lead the introduction and maintenance of good working practices related to Composite manufacturing and finishing

  • Maintain stock in line with budget and/or Chief Mechanics requirements

  • Able to read Engineering Drawings and prepare Production Manuals

  • Ensure Chief Mechanic is aware of any quality or process issues during build and/or repair

  • Develop procedures and processes to ensure components are handled and stored, reducing/eliminating potential risks for damage

  • Maintain and develop skill levels of your team

  • Carry out regular staff appraisals and team meetings, bringing any problems or issues promptly to the attention of race team management

  • To adopt safe working practices at all times in compliance with Health and Safety regulations and company policy

  • Prepare risk assessments for equipment and working practices within the composite area

  • Working with Engineers and Chief Mechanic, set and achieve daily targets

  • Maintain site standards in accordance with company expectations

  • To carry other adhoc duties requested by the race team management as the needs of the business may from time to time dictate

  • Lead and demonstrate flexibility, prepared to work overtime, often without notice, as dictated by the demands of the business
