PWR Performance Products is a market leader in the design and manufacture of high performance cooling products. Specialising in high end cooling solutions for motorsport, automotive and emerging technologies. PWR supplies race teams all over the world including Formula 1, NASCAR, LMP, Indy Car, V8 Supercars, WTCC and WRC as well as niche OEM and the automotive aftermarket.

Based at Ormeau on the Gold Coast, PWR's purpose built manufacturing facility includes an extensive R&D department with a wind tunnel test facility, brazing, welding, fabrication and CNC machine shop all on site. 

Exponential growth has opened up an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Designer.  The successful candidate will join our established design team, expanding on existing designs and developing new products.

This is a VERY dynamic design environment where the ability to multi task and deliver quality design work in short lead times is essential as there is the daily requirement to keep pace with a skilled and dedicated production team.

Tasks include complete assembly design, fixture and component design with the requirement to output these designs as either 2D detailed drawings and/or 3D models for in house production at PWR. You will be required to produce this manufacturing detail in a number of ways either through established techniques, your own designs or by working with supplied customer geometry/models and reverse engineering techniques.  You will be supplied significant support to grow and develop these skills to PWR standard.

To be considered for this exciting role, you must have:

  • Very competent SolidWorks skills and experience.
  • Ability to design, model and output detail 2D drawings
  • Solid written & verbal communication skills.
  • Hands-on and practical approach.
  • Enthusiasm and highly motivated
  • Proven accuracy & attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and time constraints


Also viewed favourably but not essential:

  • 2D AutoCad experience
  • Sheet Metal design experience
  • Drafting office & CAD systems administration experience
  • CAD automation and ERP experience
  • SolidWorks Certified Professional qualifications.
  • Welding procedures & standards
  • Motorsport/Automotive interests


Assistance with Australian Visa’s will be available for the right candidate.
