currently seeking you as

Manager of Vehicle Performance and Simulation (f/m)

of the Vehicle Performance and Simulation Group for BMW race car projects. You will be responsible for

defining functional properties and performance development for all BMW Group race cars.

In your role, you will represent BMW Motorsport in dealings with the various sport authorities, from

development of regulations, to the type approval of vehicles. You will also define functional target values and

performance potentials for the race cars based on analysis, simulations, experiences or technological innovations.

You will also be responsible for the set-up, further development, and use of data analysis tools, as well as

component and whole vehicle testing and simulation methods for objectively evaluating and influencing the

targeted parameters, and you will responsible to significantly drive forward the virtualization of development

and realization of test environments.

You will also validate the performance potentials and establish a baseline configuration during the development

phase before handing the respective project over to the track-engineering group.

Your varied domain of responsibility will be rounded off by the tracking of performance during the races, as well

as the development and use of monitoring and reporting tools for recording development progress, and handing

over the finished vehicle to the race team.

You should have:

  • University degree in engineering, mechanical engineering, vehicle technology or a comparable course of study.
  • Expert level professional experience in the field of complete vehicle development, racing, driving dynamics or overall vehicle simulation in premium racing sports (F1, LMP, DTM).
  • Leadership experience.
  • Expert knowledge in the development and evaluation of whole vehicle concepts.
  • Expert knowledge of driving dynamics and functional characteristics of race cars.
  • In-depth knowledge of all performance-relevant specialist departments for race cars.
  • Expert knowledge in the field of simulation, metrology, data analysis and their methodology.
  • In-depth knowledge of software tools commonly used in motorsport for simulation, data collection and data analysis.
  • Business-fluent English (advanced knowledge of German).
  • Teamwork and communication skills.
  • Assertiveness and pro-active work approach.
  • Structured and analytical thinking.
