IT Manager 

 Mahindra Racing is a motor racing team based in Banbury, United Kingdom, competing with an Indian racing licence. The team is currently competing in the electric FIA Formula E Championship since the inaugural season in 2014

 

Role Overview:

This is a technical role and requires someone who is of a technical mindset with strong people management experience to be successful. You will maintain and develop systematic monitoring of the IT Infrastructure to improve and bolster the teams resilience. You will need to be experienced in all the usual infrastructure related disciplines of servers, storage, networking and firewalls, M365 along with VMware virtualisation. Knowledge of motorsport specific hardware and software will be an added advantage.

The IT Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management and support of all IT infrastructure and end-user computing within the Mahindra racing team. This includes managing a team of two to three IT personnel, providing hands-on support for systems, servers, networks, and end-user devices.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the IT department, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to the team.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to employees, resolving IT-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify and address technology needs, ensuring efficient and effective use of IT resources.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of all IT systems, implementing appropriate measures to protect against cyber threats and data breaches.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including service level agreements.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends, making recommendations for their integration into the company's IT systems.
  • Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure compliance and standardisation.
  • Monitor IT performance metrics, analyse data, and generate reports for management review.

 

Qualifications, skills and experience required:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience of Windows server management, Active Directory, DNS, MS Exchange / M365, Veeam and Veeam Backup.
  • Strong experience of managing people and being able to deliver targeted development to those you manage.
  • Great understanding of managing firewalls and desktop anti-virus software.
  • Hands on experience of managing and maintaining virtualisation tools such as VMware.
  • Proven ability to foster a positive and collaborative working environment within an IT team
  • An undergraduate degree or equivalent working experience.
  • Prince2 Foundation and ITIL qualification is highly desirable.
  • A passion for motorsport and a good understanding of the industry's unique IT requirements.
